Nicaragua is a country of lakes, volcanoes and rainforest just waiting to be discovered.  Boasting beautiful natural scenery and lovely colonial cities, Nicaragua is a lovely country and a great option to combine with a holiday to Costa Rica.

Managua
The capital city of Nicaragua, Managua is situated on Lake Managua and offers some museums and plazas.  There is very little to do in Managua for a tourist but it is a great base from which to explore Nicaragua.

Granada
Granada is situated on Lake Nicaragua and one of the more popular places to visit in Nicaragua.  Enjoy a walking tour or carriage ride of the city to become familiar with it and enjoy a number of excursions available to Lake Nicaragua.

Lake Nicaragua
The largest lake in the Americas, Lake Nicaragua is home to the largest freshwater island in the world, Ometepe which is the highlight of any trip to Nicaragua and has two volcanoes, Concepcion and Volcan Maderas.
